The legal foundation

I spent years studying International Law at Rajshahi University, earning both my LLB and LLM. The coursework covered case-law analysis, legal systems, statutory interpretation, and how attorneys actually practice across jurisdictions.

At the time, I did not know this would become a competitive advantage in digital marketing. Studying law teaches you something most marketers never learn: how to think like an attorney, structure arguments, and communicate complex legal concepts with precision.

When I write about personal injury or structure a page on medical malpractice, I already know what standard of care actually means. That is not something you can Google in an afternoon.

Finding SEO

In 2018, I discovered search engine optimization and immediately saw the connection. The analytical thinking that law requires maps directly to how SEO works: understanding intent, building evidence-based arguments through content, and following the rules of the system to achieve outcomes.

I started by learning everything I could about technical SEO, content strategy, and local search. Instead of becoming a generalist, I focused on the industries I understood best: medical practices and law firms.

I did not choose legal SEO because it pays well. I chose it because I actually understand the subject matter. That understanding is what makes the content authentic and the strategy effective.

The YMYL focus

Google classifies legal and medical content as YMYL: Your Money or Your Life. That means the quality standards are dramatically higher than what applies to most websites. AI search and what comes next

When ChatGPT launched and Google introduced AI Overviews, I saw the next shift coming. People were not just going to search for lawyers on Google anymore. They were going to ask AI for recommendations.

I started studying how AI systems extract and cite information. The patterns are different from traditional SEO: direct-answer formatting, entity clarity, schema markup, and what I call citability, whether your content is structured in a way that AI can confidently reference and attribute.

Most law-firm websites are completely invisible to AI search. Firms implementing AI search optimization now are capturing a first-mover advantage that will become harder to replicate as the market catches up.
